Violence in Tibet

News reports of the recent developments in Tibet have been very disturbing. The pictures of tanks roaming the streets of Lhasa brought back memories of the massacre of student activists in Tiannmen square.

The Dalai lama has threatened to resign if the violence continues.

All this violence has brought out the picture of China wanting to act as the supreme controller in the Asian sub-continent. And Tibet is not the only place it wants to control illegally, Arunachal Pradesh, an integral part of India, is also seeing an increased intrusion by the Chinese. By doing this China is in no way improving its image before the Olympics. Calls for boycotting the games have already started coming, but i feel no substantial damage will be done to the games that begin this August.

The Chinese media as usual is dishing out wrong or rather 'Government provided' stats and information, which is a joke in itself. There is more freedom for the press in Pakistan than there in the People's Republic of china(Republic, my ass!!!). so whenever the chinese media says that 10 people have been killed or hurt, multiply it by a factor of 10 to get an idea of the real numbers.

What else do i say........i hope a day will come when Tibet becomes a peaceful place and is free of all influences Chinese.

I must express my sincerest appreciation for the Chinese media for distorting all facts and figures and then having the guts to present that load of crap to the world. Peace!!!!!!
